2008 AVRM National Conference
October 1-2, 2008
Downtown Holiday Inn
Binghamton, New York

Request for Proposals
Power in Partnerships

The theme of this year’s conference, Power in Partnerships, reflects the potential and energy we experience working with volunteers. Together we will discuss the emerging opportunities volunteer resource managers (VRMs) share in developing authentic, sustainable partnerships for our organizations.

We can build stronger communities by increasing communication between programs. Everyday we create more effective programs that increase the quality of life in our communities. What collaborative successes and synergy can we highlight in identifying new resources and learning how to leverage these resources together to meet the identified needs of our communities? What roles can educational institutions, funding sources, government, businesses, corporations and others play in creating a shared vision and making things happen?

Consider submitting a proposal for a workshop session. Presenters will receive a 10% discount on the conference registration. To submit a proposal, please use the form below.

AVRM National Conference Host

Serving as the AVRM National Conference Host is beneficial to local volunteer managers associations and non-profit networks. You will find that in the process of planning the conference, opportunities will present themselves to develop new partnerships, increase awareness of volunteerism in your community and building the leadership skills and knowledge of the field in local volunteer resources managers.

It also offers local volunteer resources managers the opportunity to experience a national level conference at an affordable price. As a host you are also encouraged to involve other local or regional volunteer resources manager associations (DOVIAs) or non-profit networks to participate increasing the pool of volunteers to support the conference.

To propose your city as a future conference site, please use the form below. We understand that you may not have all of the information that is requested on the form but tell us as much as you can. The conference planning committee would like to know more about your city and the potential for holding a conference there.
